“A holistically shaped generation of young people who are strategically positioned at the centre of Uganda’s social economic transformation.”
“To build and sustain an empowered and vibrant population that strives to live in harmony with divergent views for the benefit of all”
The Uganda Dialogue Arena (UDA) is a platform that brings together young students to a common platform to tackle pertinent national issues through debate, dialogue, skills enhancement and acquisition.
It was founded in late 2010 as the Uganda Youth Debating Society (UYDS) with the sole aim of championing debate in institutions of learning and the general public as well as grooming student leaders through interaction.
The Uganda Dialogue Arena has been organizing debates, skills trainings, workshops and seminars in several institutions of learning in Uganda since 2011.
In July 2014, a National Youth Skills Expo Debate Championship was successfully organized and held at the National Theatre with the Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda as Guest of Honour. In 2015, UDA held 5 regional youth debates with over 60 secondary schools, reaching out to more than 1,500 passionate young debaters and future leaders.
From its inception, UDA has reached out to more than 90,000 students and youths across the country and the East African region.
UDA has also planned the 3rd National Inter University Debate, Health Camp and Skills Expo in September to be hosted at Uganda Christian University (UCU), Mukono.
